Algoma World Migratory Bird Day Celebration
The Algoma World Migratory Bird Day Celebration, presented by the Bird City Algoma Committee, will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Algoma High School. This year’s theme, "Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities," emphasizes the importance of conservation in protecting local bird populations.
This free event will feature presentations on the significance of local birds, updates on Algoma’s habitat restoration projects, and insights from experts on invasive species and bird conservation. Friends of Crescent Beach Committee members John Walch and Debbie Kiedrowski will be among the presenters, sharing their expertise. Visitors can also connect with other committee members at the Friends of Crescent Beach display table.
Additional celebration highlights include live raptor encounters, storytelling and activities for children, interactive displays from local organizations, door prize drawings, and a variety of sale items. Food and refreshments will be available.
